Histamine / scombrotoxin food recalls

Raincoast Trading recalls Wild Pacific Sardines in tomato sauce due to high levels of histamine. Consuming this product may cause histamine poisoning with symptoms including flushing, headache, and gastrointestinal distress.

Northern Fisheries Ltd. recalls Frozen Yellowfin Tuna Loins, 5-8 lbs, Keep Frozen, Imported/Distributed: Mical Seafood Inc (Class II)

Northern Fisheries Ltd. recalled Frozen Yellowfin Tuna Loins, Ground Meat, and Steaks distributed by Mical Seafood Inc. because they may contain elevated histamine levels causing scombrotoxin fish poisoning. This poisoning causes flushing, itching, and gastrointestinal distress within minutes of consumption.
