Privacy
What we collect
Browsing Food Recall Radar requires no account and we ask for nothing. If you set up an email alert we store the address you give us, the alert criteria you choose, and a record of your consent — the exact wording shown to you, when you agreed, and the page you agreed on. We keep that consent record because email regulations require us to be able to demonstrate it.
IP addresses
We never store your IP address. Where we need to rate-limit a form we store a salted, truncated one-way hash of it, which cannot be reversed to recover the original address.
Alerts are opt-in and confirmed by a verification email, so an address cannot be subscribed by someone else. Every alert carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately and without logging in. We do not sell, rent or share your address.
Analytics
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand which pages are useful. Any advertising or analytics cookies are set only after you accept them, and declining costs you no functionality.
The recall data itself
Every recall on this site is public-domain information published by FDA or USDA. It contains company names and product details, which are part of the public record, and no personal data about you.
