Miceli Dairy Products and multiple ricotta cheese brands recalled their products after whey protein concentrate used in manufacturing tested positive for beta lactam antibiotic residues. Consumers exposed to antibiotic residues may develop allergic reactions or contribute to antibiotic resistance.
