Product Contamination
WASHINGTON, March 23, 2019 North Country Smokehouse, a Claremont, N.H. establishment, is recalling approximately 2,686 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The ready-to-eat kielbasa sausage items were produced on February 7, 2019 and February 8, 2019. The following products are subject to recall: [View Labels (PDF only)]
The products subject to recall bear establishment number EST. 5390A inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
The problem was discovered on March 18, 2019 by FSIS inspection program personnel during a routine review of establishment consumer complaint records.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers refrigerators or frozen and in consumers freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls.

Misbranding
Midwest Poultry Services recalled white and brown cage-free shell eggs that may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis. Consuming contaminated eggs can cause serious illness.
Fayus recalled Ola-Ola Pounded Yam that may contain undeclared milk in the form of sodium caseinate. People with milk allergies risk serious allergic reaction.
Khong Guan Corporation recalled Glutinous Rice Balls with Black Sesame Filling that may contain undeclared peanuts. People with peanut allergies risk serious allergic reaction.
