J&J Distributing, a St. Paul, Minn. establishment, is recalling approximately 136 pounds of ready-to-eat salad products that contain meat due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The products contain pine nuts (tree nut), a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.
The ready-to-eat salad products that contain meat were produced on various dates from December 21, 2019 through December 27, 2019.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number EST. 38450 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Minnesota.
The problem was discovered during routine FSIS inspection activities.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify that recalling firms are notifying their customers of the recall and that actions are being taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. J&J Distributing recalls ready-to-eat meat and poultry salads and wraps including Cobb Salad and multiple tastebuds sandwich wraps due to possible Listeria contamination. Consumers with these products should discard them as Listeria can cause serious illness or death in vulnerable populations.
Multiple refrigerated taco trays, dips, wraps and salads distributed under various brands have been recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Consumers who have consumed these products should monitor themselves for listeriosis symptoms including fever, muscle aches and gastrointestinal illness.
J&J Distributing Company recalled shredded carrots and multiple ready-to-eat salad products because shredded carrots used as an ingredient were contaminated with metal pieces. Consumers could suffer cuts or dental damage if they consume products containing the contaminated carrots.
Red's Steak Cilantro and Lime Burritos were recalled due to misbranding and undeclared allergens on the package label. Consumers with this product may be exposed to allergens not listed on the label, which poses a risk to people with food allergies.
